Dulverton Angus 2024 Sale – Things will be different.

The 2024 Sale will be Simulcast LIVE with StockLiveElite with pre-bidding commencing on Monday 20th May 12 Noon at our Open Day being held at 1417 Shannon Vale Road, Shannon Vale NSW.

Pre-bidding will allow you as a buyer to set and forget. This means that you can place a maximum bid ahead of the LIVE auction on StockLive that will do your bidding for you. StockLive will be on the ground at the Open Day to assist you with this process.

The auto-bidding will run in conjunction with the prices being bid in the LIVE auction, your maximum bid will not be the starting price. If your maximum bid is passed in the LIVE Auction you will need to be ONLINE to bid above that price.

All lots will have pre-recorded videos for those who can’t make the Open Day to inspect livestock. To register for the sale visit www.stocklive.com.au and find the Dulverton Angus Sale.

The LIVE in-room auction will take place at 11:00am in “The Remembrance Room”, Glen Innes, R.S.L. Shad Bailey (Colin Say & Co) will adjudicate the LIVE auction which he will field BIDS from the floor in The Remembrance Room and Online with StockLive.

Sal keeps telling me that many of you, our Valued Clients, are very much in the Dark as to whether Dulverton Angus is -:

 1) Still operational and producing Angus Sale Bulls

 2) Committed to marketing future Sale Bull Drafts, albeit Online

Sal and I would like you to understand that we have changed our marketing method to The Online Video Auction, supported by the Physical Inspection the day prior to the Video Auction. The venue for this online Auction will be StockLive. This decision has been taken because of the intense workload required to Plan, Manage and implement The on Property Auction. On Property Bull Sales are major productions and as Sal and I enter the twilight of our careers, staging them is simply Physically and Mentally too taxing.

Dulverton Angus Sale Bulls are definitely still being produced and with the same enthusiasm as they have been over the past forty three (43) years.

 For Example-:

  *In October 2023 we AI’d two hundred and seventy females and bred two hundred and seventy six “naturally”, a total of Five Hundred and seventy six (576).

   *Dr. Matt Pope has pregnancy tested four hundred and seventy two (472) Dulverton females at Shannon on the 17th and 18th of January.

      * Dick Whale Graded 123 “T” bulls on Monday 5/02/2024.

 *Alex Steinbeck will freeze brand the “T”s during February.

 Following this process we shall select and catalogue 85 “T” Bulls for The Online Bull Sale scheduled for Wednesday 22nd May 2024. The Physical Inspection will be staged in the Shannon Vale Cattle Yards Monday 20th May 2024.

  *Ben Hooper will be engaged in early April, to produce a video and still photo of each and every Lot.     

   *Fiona will produce a Sale Catalogue which will be mailed out as well as being posted on the various Websites (Angus Australia, Colin Say & Co and our own Dulverton website).

 *Colin Say & Co. will be engaged as Agents and so will be available to assist with your specific enquiries, transfers etc.

       *Ced Wise will semen test the Sale Team during the second half of April and please note all Bulls will have had their 7 in 1 booster (Leptospirosis) and will have been double vaccinated for both Pestivirus and Vibriosis.

   *We will most definitely conduct a Display Day, Monday 20th May, two days prior to the online auction. Take the opportunity afforded by the Physical Display Day to inspect the draft at your leisure, make your considered selection with the knowledge you have plenty of time, Sale won’t be until two days following, importantly the Bulls will be fresh in your minds when bidding Online. Bulls will be penned and referenced to catalogue order for your convenience at The Display Day.

We have a young dedicated Team, very ably led by Tim, who are totally committed to breeding superior Angus and raring them in a manner such that they are able to achieve structural soundness, optimum fertility rates, calving percentages, weaning weights, post weaning rates of gain and carcass specs (Marbling, Tenderness, REA, Fatness). We still get a major Buzz from working with enthusiastic young people and where possible assist them broaden their knowledge and skills base. The team is focused and united by the common goal “The Show must go on”.

That’s It, Dulverton Angus at Shannon Vale Station is still very much “Alive and Kicking”, be assured when we do decide to retire from Breeding and Selling Angus Bulls, the event will be marked with a much larger celebration than “The Last Hoorah”.
